Ingredients:
- 1½ cup sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup honey
- ½ cup coffee
- 10 drops anise oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 tsp baking soda
- 5½ cup flour
Frosting:
Soften 1 pkg Knox gelatin in ¾ cup cold water. Add ¾ cup sugar. Bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes, watching closely and stirring. Put ¾ cup powdered sugar in a large bowl. and pour in above mix and beat til foamy. Add ¾ tsp baking powder. Add 1 tsp vanilla and 4 drops anise oil.
