Pecan and date pastries

Ingredients:

Pastry dough
2 -3 cups coconut
1 tsp elachi powder
½ cup chopped dates
1 tin condense milk
½ to 1 cup chopped pecan nuts
Apricot jam and cherries for decorating

Filling:

Mix coconut, elachi powder, pecans and dates.

Add in enough condense milk to combine.

Mixture must be moist and sweet enough.

Directions:

Roll out pastry, cut into rectangles and place filling in the middle.

Fold over pastry to cover the filling and cut into strips on the other side.

Twist the strips and place over plain pastry top

Bake at 200 degress until golden brown,

Brush apricot jam over and decorate with cherries.
