1. Decide which style works best

For a more casual and comfortable look (think Shabby Chic), try a relaxed cover. For a tailored, clean silhouette, go with a fitted cover made from a stretch fabric.

2. Pick the perfect size

You'll need to measure length (outer arm to outer arm), depth, and height, plus the cushion dimensions, noting if they're box (square) or T-seat (wrapping around the arm)

3. Put the cover on correctly

Spritz it with water and pop in the dryer to de-wrinkle. Take it out when almost dry; place on sofa ASAP. Tuck fabric into crevices with fingers or a wooden spoon.

4. Clean it carefully

Make sure to follow the care-label instructions; you definitely don't want to shrink this sucker! For easy care, look for washer- and dryer-safe options.
