Is it safe to move furniture while I'm pregnant?

You can move furniture in the first trimester, but after that I don't recommend moving heavy furniture. You're already going to have a lot of back strain just from carrying the fetus. The whole way you hold yourself changes because your center of gravity moves forward. If you then exert yourself to lift something heavy, it increases the strain on your back even more, putting you at risk for a back injury.

No safe limits have been established as a guideline for lifting (or moving) weight during pregnancy.
If you do move furniture, make sure you know how to protect your back so you don't get a backache. Bend from the knees and keep your back straight when lifting. If your back muscles are weak and you have a very large, protruding abdomen, a maternity belt can provide valuable support.
But it would be best to enlist help instead when you need your furniture moved.
