Hot Buttered Rum Mix
1 pound butter
2 pounds brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In large bowl soften the butter and gradually cream in the remaining ingredients. Refrigerate or freeze. Makes 6 cups.
For gift pack, pack mix into decorative crock, then place in a basket with a bottle of dark rum, four mugs, whole nutmeg and a small nutmeg grinder.
Hot Buttered Rum (serves 1): 1 tbl. hot buttered rum mix, 1/2 ounce rum, 6 ounces boiling water, fresh grated nutmeg.
Place hot buttered rum mix in the bottom of a mug. Add the rum and boiling water. Stir until the mix is dissolved. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
