Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cups shortening
- 2 cups dates, pitted
Preparation:
In a medium saucepan combine flour and shortening over medium heat.
Stir constantly, and be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of pan to prevent sticking.
Once mixture turns golden brown and bubbles, remove from heat and place in serving bowl.
Serve immediately with pitted dates.
Note: This date dip cannot be saved or prepared ahead of time. It should only be served hot.
