1 1/4 lbs. 85% lean ground beef

1 onion, chopped

1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

salt and pepper, to taste

1 15.5 oz. jar pasta sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 TB Worcestershire Sauce

1–2 tablespoons dark brown sugar, to taste

4 burger buns, toasted

Brown the beef in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, 5 to 7 minutes. Add onions, bell pepper and garlic powder and season with salt and pepper. Cook until vegetables soften, about 7 minutes. Add pasta sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar. Stir to combine. Simmer until slightly thickened, 5 more minutes. Spoon the mixture into toasted hamburger buns.
