Saying Nice Things

Do you not see how God makes a metaphor of a good word: a good tree whose roots are firm and whose branches are in heaven? God makes metaphors for people so that, hopefully, they will pay heed. (Qur'an, 14:24-25)

Torah Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone. (Proverbs, 25:15) The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction. (Proverbs, 16:21) Bible Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
