First, gather the following supplies: Family photos (we used 15), the same amount of frames, a pencil, hammer, nails and a level.

Next, scan photos into your computer, and print out black and white copies onto photo paper. If technically-challenged, head to your nearest copy shop.

For a unique, yet cohesive look, choose frames that are slightly different, but have one unifying element. We chose a variety of styles in a dark wood finish.

Frame your photos

Clear out a space in front of the photo wall. Arrange photos on the floor, placing them as you would like them to appear on the wall. When doing this, create an overall rectangular shape (so the outermost frames' outside edges form a rectangle).

Within the "rectangle," space frames about four inches apart (no more). Use your eye to determine what looks the most balanced, making sure to mix up the placement of small and large frames.

Starting from the top left corner, hang the first photo. Moving left to right, hang the top row, making sure to line up top edges to form a straight line.

Leaving enough room for the middle row, hang the bottom row, starting from the left.

Make sure the left edge lines up with the top left frame, the bottom edges are form a straight line and the bottom right frame's edge lines up with the top right photo's right edge, as shown.

Now, hang the middle row.

You're done!
