Clean your Freezer in a Flash

If you have a stand-alone unit, unplug your freezer and vacuum and dust the coils and area around the unit as you did with the refrigerator. Have coolers and ice on hand to store your frozen food while you clean. Check for out-of-date items and discard them. Wipe down the interior surfaces using the same cleaning solution you used for your refrigerator. Clean the sealing rubber gasket with only a damp sponge (no caustic cleaners).

If you need to remove ice buildup, use a plastic spatula and be very careful scraping ice away. Have a bucket or bowl handy and lots of old towels to sop up water and make the job mess-free.
